Megan Miranda has some of my favorite thrillers to read during summer time. The characters are relatable and the stories always have so many great twist and turns! Thankfully I got into her books a little later than others so now I have a few more books of her that I haven’t read yet but are on my tbr list. She also has a new thriller called The Girl from Widow Hills which I read earlier this and will be published June 23 and it’s a must read! You seriously can’t go wrong with any of her books! So far my favorite of hers in The Last House Guest, it’s the perfect summer suspense book.
Author Highlight- Christina Lauren
I have been on a Christina Lauren kick lately. I read The Unhoneymooners back in May and loved it. I decided to take a break from thrillers this month and ready some romantic comedies and I figured the best place to start was with Christina Lauren books. Let’s just say that I was hooked. I read Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating and loved it. I fell in love with Hazel. She was smart and witty and completely okay with being herself. I then read My Favorite Half Night Stand and loved both Millie and Reid and their relationship. I also felt like Millie was extremely relatable. I then read Roomies and love the light feel of it and who doesn’t like to read about a nice looking Irish man. 😂 I was able to get into all of these books within a couple of chapters and had a hard time putting them down. My favorite of hers is still The Unhoneymooners because I just loved Olive. If you haven’t read any of her books then I definitely encourage you to pick one up now.
Author Highlight- Karin Slaughter
You know you’ve read a great book when it sticks with you for days, even weeks after reading them. This is exactly how I feel about Karin Slaughter’s books. There is no doubt that she knows how to write amazing detailed stories that haunt you after finishing them. My only warning with her books is that they can be graphic and for me that makes me love her writing even more but for others that might be difficult to process. She leaves nothing to the imagination and allows takes you down a complex series of events. I have read quite a few Karin Slaughter books so far my favorites are Pretty Girls and The Good Daughter.
Author Highlight- Ruth Ware
I have just recently gotten into Ruth Ware books and all I can say is, where the hell have I been. I have read at least 4 of her books this year and have really enjoyed all the four. My first one was The Woman in Cabin 10 and right after I read that I decide that I needed more Ruth Ware books in my life so bought a few of her other. She is a great mytery/thriller writer. I was able to read her newest book The Turn of the Key is advance and it’s probably my favorite of hers so far. Her writing always has me on the edge of my seat waiting for the next twist and turn. I can’t wait to read more of her books and become an even bigger fan.
Author Highlight- Riley Sager
If you are looking for a great thriller than I highly recommend any book written by Riley Sager. His stories completely take over you and hold onto you from the beginning until the very end. There are always twist and turns that have you guessing all the way through. I have enjoyed every book he has written and I look forward to the new books he will write. In order of my favorite, I would have the say that Final Girls was my favorite followed by Lock every Door and then The Last Time I Lied. These are some of the best thrillers I’ve read in a long time and I encourage you to read them as well.
